ABOUT MAMA'S PIZZA | HISTORICAL NOTES
A lot of history is represented here at Mama's:
The Location Our building was built in 1924 and originally served as a firehouse. Several Laurel and Hardy films were shot here. In 1994, our dining room starred in "Threesome" (Lara Flynn Boyle and Stephen Baldwin played supporting roles).
The Art The advertising art displayed here is part of the private collection of Steve Milner. All the pieces are original and many are very rare. The oldest piece dates back to 1927.
The Big Antiques From the turn of the century, Mama found a soda fountain back-bar from the South, Featuring a beveled mirror, Ieaded stained glass panels and marble top (yes, it's really heavy!). The round glass Coca-Cola sign is from 1927 and is very rare. The stained glass window came from a Midwestern church (also circa 1900).
The World
Mama's Menu - Many of Mama's recipes date back generations. And one, the Marguerita, is a faithful representation of the original pizza recipe, commissioned by Queen Marguerita of Italy, in 1896.
